Trichology,
a blind spot
in initial medical training
This is not an individual deficiency. Hair pathologies are common in general and aesthetic medicine — yet diagnostic and therapeutic tools are rarely taught in initial medical training.
A clinical spectrum far broader than androgenetic alopecia alone
Postpartum or post-infectious telogen effluvium, traction alopecia, early alopecia areata, cicatricial alopecia — clinical presentations appear similar on the surface and require structured differential diagnosis to avoid missing a therapeutic window.
Clinical examination alone remains insufficient
Without trichoscopy — and without knowing how to interpret its results — distinguishing between AGA, telogen effluvium, and inflammatory alopecia relies on elements too fragile to establish a reliable diagnosis and select the correct therapeutic protocol.
Specialist referrals cause detrimental delays
A six-month wait for dermatology during active telogen effluvium means a missed therapeutic window. A physician trained in trichology can manage a large portion of these patients directly — and refer complex cases at the right time.
You are their
first line of care.
Not their last.
A dermatologist means a 4 to 6-month wait for non-urgent alopecia. During this time, the therapeutic window narrows — and your patient loses confidence in their care. You have the medical skills. You lack the complete trichological framework. This is precisely what this training delivers.
Trichoscopy performed and interpreted by you — not merely observed in demonstrations.
Each pathology matched with its appropriate treatment — mesotherapy, PRP, hair transplant: what to offer, to whom, and when.
The mesotherapy technique mastered on live models, under direct and individualized supervision.
One and a half days. A complete hair practice.
The most comprehensive
hair training from École Marignan
Diagnosis, interpretation, procedural execution, and a comprehensive overview of care — everything required to manage your patients' hair concerns, in one and a half days, individually or in a group.
In-depth Trichoscopy
Equipment, methodology, comprehensive semiology — and above all, result interpretation: miniaturization, yellow dots, black dots, perifollicular fibrosis. You learn to read, not just look.
Hair Pathologies and Their Treatments
AGA, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, cicatricial and traction alopecias — each clinical presentation paired with the appropriate treatment, supported by evidence levels and a decision algorithm.
Trichoscopies Performed on Real Patients
You perform trichoscopies yourself on clinic patients, with real-time interpretation alongside Dr. Freiss. Diagnostic reasoning is anchored in real clinical practice.
Mesotherapy Practiced on Live Models
5 live models per physician. Preparation, nappage and point-by-point techniques, session management — with real-time technique correction by Dr. Freiss.
Other Treatments, by Indication
PRP, Regenera Activa, maintenance mesotherapy, CHOI hair transplant — you know which treatment to recommend for each patient profile, and when to refer for surgery.
An autonomous hair practice
Consultation structuring, written protocols, follow-up and reassessment criteria, product sourcing, alumni WhatsApp group — everything you need to manage your hair loss patients in-clinic.
The success of your treatment depends on
your understanding of the hair disorder
This is the cornerstone of all hair loss management — and the central thread of this training. A perfectly executed protocol based on an approximate diagnosis yields no results. That is why trichoscopy, and specifically the interpretation of its findings, takes center stage throughout the entire day and a half.
Reading trichoscopy
Miniaturization, yellow dots, black dots, fibrosis — every sign tells a story about the follicle.
→Understanding the pathology
AGA, effluvium, alopecia areata, scarring alopecia — interpreting the findings turns clinical signs into a precise diagnosis.
→Selecting the right treatment
Mesotherapy, PRP, Regenera, CHOI hair transplant — the right treatment, for the right patient, at the right time.
→A responsive patient
Clinical outcomes — and the patient's trust throughout their follow-up — stem from the accuracy of the initial diagnosis.
That is why you do not simply observe trichoscopies during this training: you perform them yourself, and you interpret the results live alongside Dr. Freiss.
Hair treatments
ready to implement as soon as
you return to your clinic
Trichology consultations and hair mesotherapy do not require heavy technical equipment. They integrate seamlessly into medical practice — within a clear clinical framework, rigorous traceability, and informed patient consent.
Dedicated trichology consultation
Structured anamnesis, trichoscopy and interpretation, targeted biological workup, differential diagnosis, formalized treatment plan. A full-fledged medical consultation, with the level of expertise it entails.
Hair mesotherapy session
Indicated as first-line treatment for telogen effluvium and early stages of AGA, hair mesotherapy can be performed in-clinic with no specialized equipment beyond standard injection supplies.
Follow-up and therapeutic reassessment
At 3 and 6 months, trichoscopic reassessment objectively measures treatment response, enables protocol adjustments, or guides referral to complementary therapies (PRP, Regenera, hair transplant).

"Trichoscopy is an underutilized tool in primary care medicine. With a structured reading method, it profoundly changes diagnostic quality—and confidence in therapeutic decisions."
Dr. Rebecca Freiss
Aesthetic Physician — Hair Specialist, Maison Marignan
Dr. Rebecca Freiss has practiced at Maison Marignan for several years, where she conducts all non-surgical hair consultations. She performs most of the clinic's 400 monthly trichoscopies and supervises hair mesotherapy protocols.
Over a day and a half, she shares her complete methodology: diagnostic reasoning, trichoscopic interpretation, therapeutic technique—and how to integrate everything into private practice consultations.
Which trichoscope?
Which mesotherapy products?
Choosing your trichoscope and mesotherapy products is complex: options are numerous, price variations are significant, and one product sheet looks like any other. During the training, you will receive full details on what our clinic uses—equipment, products, suppliers, and supply chains—choices validated through intensive, daily hair practice.
Trichoscopies per month
in our clinic
Our equipment and product choices do not come from a catalogue—they are validated daily, in real-world conditions, on a volume of clinical practice rare in France.

Practical information
and prerequisites
Who is this training for?
To general practitioners or specialized physicians looking to establish a comprehensive, autonomous hair care practice — from trichoscopic diagnosis to therapeutic procedures. It is also designed for aesthetic physicians seeking to structure a dedicated hair department within their practice. Prior experience with intradermal or subcutaneous injections is strongly recommended for the hands-on component.
Individual or group: how to choose?
Individual training (€5,990 excl. VAT) is a 1.5-day one-on-one with Dr. Freiss: it is the most intensive format, with pacing and clinical cases fully tailored to your profile. For a practice team, a group of colleagues, or an international delegation of physicians, the session is custom-organized and subject to a tailored quote provided within 48 hours.
How is the practical component structured?
There are two hands-on sessions. On Day 1, you perform trichoscopies yourself on real clinic patients, with live result interpretation alongside Dr. Freiss. On Day 2, you perform hair mesotherapy on 5 live models per physician, with personalized technique correction. All injection supplies are provided on-site.
How are live models selected and protected?
They are clinic patients with documented alopecia currently under the care of Dr. Freiss. They participate voluntarily, receive the treatment free of charge, and sign specific participation consent forms. They are selected for the diversity of their clinical cases (male AGA, female AGA, effluvium), representative of what you will encounter in daily practice.
What are the interpreter and concierge options?
For international physicians, an interpreter can assist throughout the entire training program — please specify this option in your request so it can be included in the quote. The concierge service handles your stay in Paris: accommodation, transfers, and bookings, allowing you to focus entirely on the training. Both options are available for individual and group sessions.
What are the registration and payment terms?
Registration is completed via the online form. A 30% deposit (€1,797 excl. VAT for individual training) is required upon confirmation of your spot. The remaining balance is due before the first day of training. A formal quote can be issued for corporate training funds or continuing education support.
Is the training certified and recognized?
École Marignan is a registered training organization (registration number available upon request). A certificate of completion is issued at the end of the course. DPC/ANDPC certification procedures are currently underway — participants will be notified as soon as the framework is active.
